Criminal Defense Attorney

As an Criminal Defense Attorney, you are expected to provide zealous representation for every client by taking all reasonable measures to prepare a strong defense. This includes, but is not limited to, critically examining evidence, crafting trial and defense strategy, negotiating with opposing counsel, and preparing mitigation arguments. You are expected to maintain and continue to build knowledge of applicable criminal law and procedure, in addition to attending regular training sessions. You are expected to communicate effectively with clients and office staff, and to negotiate diligently, cogently, and professionally with opposing counsel and the bench. The ideal Moaddel associate is one who embodies a never back down attitude against all odds and adversity. Strong written and oral advocacy skills are preferred.
Job Duties:
  • Handle court appearances in both felony and misdemeanor state court
  • Handle case for entire life cycle (arraignment – post-conviction)
  • Motion/pleading drafting
  • Client management (client meetings and updates)
  • Discovery review and case strategy

Legal Assistant/Paralegal (Criminal Defense)

As a Legal Assistant, your duties are to prepare files for court, maintain and update court calendars and firm calendars, maintain regular communication with clients, draft petitions and motions, communicate with legal professionals (i.e. court staff, opposing counsel, expert witnesses), and provide assistance to the attorneys, as needed. Attention to detail, a professional attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced setting are required.
Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable communicating with court clerks, District Attorneys, DMV representatives
