Legal Assistant

As a Legal Assistant, your duties are to prepare files for court, maintain and update court calendars and firm calendars, maintain regular communication with clients, draft petitions and motions, communicate with legal professionals (i.e. court staff, opposing counsel, expert witnesses), and provide assistance to the attorneys, as needed. Attention to detail, a professional attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced setting are required. Previous experience in litigation or a law office and proficiency in Spanish/English is preferred.

Associate Attorney (0-3 years)

As an Associate Attorney, you are expected to provide zealous representation for every client by taking all reasonable measures to prepare a viable defense. This includes, but is not limited to, critically examining evidence, crafting trial and defense strategy, negotiating with opposing counsel, and preparing mitigation arguments. You are expected to maintain and continue to build knowledge of applicable criminal law and procedure, in addition to attending regular training sessions. You are expected to communicate effectively with clients and office staff, and to negotiate diligently, cogently, and professionally with opposing counsel and the bench. The ideal Moaddel associate is one who embodies a never back down attitude against all odds and adversity. Strong written and oral advocacy skills are preferred.


Associate Attorney (3-5 years)

As an Associate Attorney, you are expected to provide zealous representation for every client by taking all reasonable measures to prepare a viable defense. This includes, but is not limited to, critically examining evidence, crafting trial and defense strategy, negotiating with opposing counsel, and preparing mitigation arguments. You are expected to maintain and continue to build knowledge of applicable criminal law and procedure. You are expected to communicate effectively with clients and office staff, and to negotiate diligently, cogently, and professionally with opposing counsel and the bench. The ideal Moaddel associate is one who embodies a never back down attitude against all odds and adversity. Strong written and oral advocacy skills are preferred. Previous experience in criminal defense is required, including jury trial, motion practice and felony cases.


Filing Clerk

As a Filing Clerk, you are required to prepare and organize files and documents for your department. Required tasks include data entry, scanning, cross-referencing, distributing, and sorting materials according to set procedures and guidelines. Attention to detail is required.


Intern

Legal Interns are hired on an on-going basis. As an Intern, you are expected to hit the ground running by providing assistance to the attorneys and entire legal department. Tasks may include: researching, writing and drafting memoranda and opinions of law, discovery reviews, assisting with motion and trial preparation, client interviews, assistance with filing, and assistance in court.
