Meet Our Team: Chris Godinez

Chris Godinez attended UCLA from 2004-2008, where he majored in English Literature with a concentration in creative writing. After graduation, he received his certificate to teach English as a Second/Foreign Language. He taught grammar and conversation classes at an adult ESL school before attending law school in San Diego at Thomas Jefferson School in 2012.
In law school, Mr. Godinez participated in the Art & Entertainment Law Project from August to December 2014, where he assisted low-income musicians and artists with intellectual property issues. From August 2015 to May 2016, he interned with the San Diego Public Defender’s Office. He was one of eight graduates who were selected as post-bar law clerks for the San Diego Public Defender’s Central Misdemeanor Unit.
Mr. Godinez was a member of the Thomas Jefferson Law Review. His student note, “Painting Over VARA’s Mess: Protecting Street Artists’ Moral Rights Through Eminent Domain” was selected for publication (see 37 T. Jefferson L. Rev. 191). Mr. Godinez ranked 2nd out of 77 students in his graduating class, earning summa cum laude honors. He joined the Moaddel Law Firm in November, 2016.
